Adelle Onyango takes on new role at Baraza Media Lab
Adelle Onyango, the founder of Legally Clueless Africa, has been appointed to the Board of Directors at Baraza Media Lab (BML).
The move underscores the media personality’s influence and commitment to shaping the narrative of Africa through innovative and transformative media practices.
Legally Clueless Africa, a Podcast by Adelle Onyango, has gained prominence for its commitment to giving Africans agency over their stories and addressing issues that resonate with diverse communities.
Onyango’s appointment to the BML board aligns with her vision of driving positive change in the media environment across the continent.
Speaking on her recent appointment, Adelle Onyango expressed both honor and responsibility, stating:
“When I started Legally Clueless Africa, I intended to be at the forefront in changing the media landscape across Africa. New or digital media gives Africans agency over not only our stories but how they are told.”
Onyango emphasized the power of digital media in amplifying unbiased perspectives on issues that truly affect the African community.
She says her role on the BML board is an opportunity to advocate for the necessary frameworks, resources, and changes required to empower media practitioners, creative freelancers, and all participants in the creative economy to shape their narratives.
“This is an honor and responsibility in equal measure,” Onyango stated.
“Joining the Baraza Media Lab board will mean through this wonderful organization, we can push for framework, resources, and other much-needed change in the environment to allow African media practitioners, creative freelancers, and all players in the creative economy, to actualize this agency, this amplification of our voices. I am determined to work hard while serving on this board.”
