Asec Huruma, Leeds United storm Sakaja Cup quarters

Asec Huruma will confront Leeds United in one of the four quarter-finals of the Sakaja Cup Football tournament following the draw pairings conducted on December 4, 2023.

In other contests battle hardened Dandora Hunters will face a stubborn Creative FC in an encounter that pits team from Nairobi East region.

The draw further pits FKF Women Premier League side Makolanders FC against Bring Future Ladies in Nairobi East as Kibagare Girls face off with Kibera Starlets in Nairobi West.

In the men’s draw, Pumwani Sports will face Mukuru Combined in another eagerly anticipated clash as Mwiki United face off with Githurai All Stars in a Thika road derby.

In another all Thika road affair, PAC University will come up against Lucky Summer Sports, while Mowlem United from Embakasi West play Victor’s Faith.

In Nairobi West, Bç135 will face off with Kibagare slums from Westlands Sub County as KYSA play Kawasaki FC.

On form Classic FC have a mountain to climb againstUuniversity side TUK Hammers.

Winners in each of these fixtures will mark a date with their immediate neighbour.

The winner between Pumwani Sports and Mukuru Combined will face the winner in the match pitting Mwiki United and Githurai All Stars while the victor between PAC University and Lucky Summer Sports will face off with the winner from the match pitting Mowlem United and Victor’s Faith.

The winning team between Asec Huruma and Leeds United has a date with the winner between B13 and Kibagare slums as KYSA FC and Kawasaki look to book a date with the winner between TUK Hammers and Classic FC.

In the ladies edition, Betamax play Soweto Starlets as Mukuru Talents face Githurai Starlets for a semi final date between winners of each match.

Makolanders will have an entertaining encounter with Bright Future Ladies as Ruai Starlets faceoff with Club Jojo for a chance in the semis.

Michezo Halisi Kenya will have a date with Dandora Dadastars while across the city in Nairobi West, Kibagare girls play Kibera Starlets.

Joy Love have a quarter final date with Slum Scorers as Dagoretti Mix Ladies face opposition from the winner between Patriot Queens and Nairobi Prisons.

The finals of this tournament will be played on December 16, 2023, when one team will walk away with a lucrative 3 million prize money.

The tournament has been sponsored and organised by the Sakaja Foundation and Football Kenya Federation with aim of nurturing and exposing talents at the grassroots.
