New Caf president to grace Kenya-Malawi friendly in Machakos
Caf President Ahmad Ahmad could be in attendance during Kenya’s international friendly against Malawi in Machakos on Tuesday.
The continental football boss is expected in the country on Tuesday for a two day visit.
The main purpose of Ahmad’s visit remains unclear, but the Caf supremo has recently been on a continental tour of countries, following his victory over long serving strongman Issa Hayatou in March.
He has since toured Morocco, Ghana and Malawi.
Football Kenya Federation president Nick Mwendwa is said to be particularly close to Ahmad having broken ranks with a majority of his Cecafa peers to vote for Ahmad during the recent Caf elections.
Ahmad’s visit could also boost Kenya’s chances of hosting the 2018 Africa Nations Championship, even though the country is struggling to be ready.
