Carjackers leave truck driver, loader fighting for their lives

A driver and his loader are fighting for their lives at a private hospital in Nakuru after they were drugged during a carjacking incident.

They were first attended to at the JM Memorial Hospital in Ol Kalou before being transferred to the private facility for specialised treatment.

Confirming the incident, Nyandarua Central OCPD Wilson Kosgei said the duo was ferrying pharmaceutical equipment before they were hijacked.

“The two left the Ruaraka based industry early Thursday morning and we are not sure at what point they were carjacked,” said the police boss.

UNCONSCIOUS

Members of the public spotted the two at Mishore area within Ol Kalou while still unconscious and they alerted the police who ferried them to hospital.

Mr Kosgei said initial investigations indicate the hijacking incident might have occurred on the Nairobi-Naivasha, highway.

Mr Kosgei said the lorry was later traced at Rongai area within Nakuru County with the cargo having been carted away.

He said their colleagues from the criminal investigations department in Nakuru had joined them in probing the multi-million shillings theft.
