Dagoretti Santos, Kamaliza FC make winning starts in Sakaja Super Cup

Dagoretti Santos, former Harambee Stars forward Dennis Oliech’s boyhood club, commenced their Sakaja Super Campaign with a convincing win over Makombora Bulls.

In other results, former Kenya Football Federation (KFF) Kenyan Premier League side Kangemi All Stars lost 3-2 to newbies to Royal Soccer at Kihumbuini grounds.

Roysambu Sharks 2 Hebron 3

Meanwhile, In Roysambu, Anthony Mwangi helped himself to a brace as Hebron FC edged out hosts Roysambu Sharks 3-2.

Mwangi netted in the 7th and 30th minutes before Titus Mungai netted the winning goal in the 80th while Geoffrey Onyango and Sam Oduor replied for Roysambu Sharks.

And in Emabakasi East, Johnson Kalu and Robert Bukacho scored a goal each for Levites to edge Utawala Black Stars 2-1 as Westlife and Soweto Hope settled for a 1-1 stalemate in their tournament’s oppening fixtures.

Jared Chingili scored for Westlife before Christopher Tete levelled the scores.

In Kamkunji, Eastleigh Youth and Easthleigh South played out to a a 1-1 draw.

Pacy forward Hendrick Shivukule scored for Easthleigh South before Teddy Sirma equalised to earn his team a share of the spoils.

In another at the same venue, Kamaliza beat Walalah 3-2.

Elvis Otieno, Ali Michu and Patrick Ndune were on target for Kamaliza as Ali Adifatah and Feisal Omar replied for the losers

In Embakasi North, Kariobangi FC pipped Dandora Youngsters 1, thanks to a goal each by Wycliffe Ochieng and Fidel Mwanzia.

This six-week grassroots football tournament, sponsored by Nairobi governor Johnson Sakaja, will be played all all wards within the capital.

The competition is aimed at nurturing and exposing talents ahead of the festive season.

The tournament sponsors have set aside Sh6 million in prize money to be shared among the winning teams.
