Davido reacts to false reports of arrest in Kenya

Nigerian megastar Davido has reacted swiftly to rumours circulating online that he was arrested in Kenya after his Easter show. In a press statement titled “Setting Record Straight on False Arrest Reports”, Davido vehemently denied the claims and assured his fans of his innocence.

“Fam, it has come to my attention that false reports of an arrest were circulating online on April 1st, which has since led to a barrage of calls. I want to assure my fans that these reports are completely untrue,” Davido said.

The acclaimed artiste clarified that he successfully completed his scheduled shows in Uganda and Kenya without any legal issues. “I have since returned to Nigeria,” he added, putting an end to speculations about his whereabouts.

Continuing to maintain his clean record, Davido said, “I also want to state that I have never been arrested by anybody in any country in the world for any crime. Not in my native Nigeria, not in my native America, not in any of the hundreds of countries I’ve called home throughout my career.

Davido expressed his dismay at the fabrication of such serious allegations and stressed the irresponsibility of spreading misinformation, even in the context of April Fool’s Day. He announced his intention to take legal action against the media organisations responsible for generating and spreading the false reports.

“I find the fabrication of allegations of such international crimes extremely irresponsible regardless of the light of ‘April Fool’s Day’ and my lawyer is seeking legal recourse against the media parties responsible for generating this misinformation,” Davido stated emphatically.

Davido concluded by thanking his fans for their unwavering support and reminding them that their blessings come from God.

“Thank you for your continued support. Our blessings are from God. I love you all,” he concluded, reaffirming his innocence and commitment to his fans.

Davido’s swift and decisive response has quelled rumours of his alleged arrest in Kenya, putting an end to the misinformation that had caused a stir among his fan base.
