DJ Pinye mourns dad’s passing after battle with Alzheimer’s

Renowned mix master Peter Chuani, popularly known as DJ Pinye, announced the heartbreaking news of his father’s demise on Tuesday, January 9, 2023.

The 45-year-old entertainer took to social media to share the profound loss and the indescribable void it has left in his heart.

“It is with deep sorrow that I reveal the profound loss of my beloved father, his departure leaving an indescribable void. Despite my hopes for 2024, finding solace in the end of his pain is bittersweet. 😭,” wrote DJ Pinye.

Known for his close bond with his father, DJ Pinye often brought him along to his gigs, showcasing the strong connection between the two.

A throwback photo shared on Instagram depicted DJ Pinye on the decks with his late father, capturing a cherished moment from their time together.

The tragedy follows DJ Pinye’s earlier revelation about his father’s battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

On September 4, 2023, he first shared the news on his Instagram account, explaining that he had become a caregiver for his father, who was diagnosed with the progressive disease.

In a recent post just four days before his father’s passing, DJ Pinye provided an update on their journey with Alzheimer’s.

He shared a book recommendation from a friend in the United States, highlighting its powerful information on managing the condition and preventing it through dietary changes.

“As you all know by now, I have become a caregiver after we discovered my dad has Alzheimer’s. Now the thing is if you all don’t know, I have ADHD, so I am quite a slow reader, but I have challenged myself in 2024 to read this book because it has very powerful information that would let my father live the rest of his life comfortably,” expressed DJ Pinye.

The entertainer had previously disclosed that incorporating coconut oil into his father’s daily diet had shown positive effects in recovering some of the lost memories caused by Alzheimer’s.

In a heartfelt reflection back in 2016, during an event celebrating his 45th birthday and retirement from DJ’ing, DJ Pinye emotionally shared a moment when his father, part of the attendees, rose from his seat and danced along to Pinye’s mixes.

The profound connection between father and son moved the veteran entertainer to tears, illustrating the deep bond they shared over the years.
