‘I slid in her DM…’ Chipukeezy on trying to reach out to late Starlet Wahu

Comedian and TV host Chipukeezy has opened up about his connection with the late Starlet Wahu, the baby sister of controversial prophet Victor Kanyari.

Chipukeezy shared details during an interview with Iko Nini podcast.

According to Chipukeezy, he initially reached out to Starlet through social media and credited her for facilitating an interview with her brother for his show.

He reminisced about their initial interactions, saying:

“The saddest part is that I knew that lady. She introduced me to Kanyari. I remember one time Kanyari trended because of listening to secular music while coming from Machakos as the lady recorded him. I slid in her DM. I am not sure if it was Kanyari I was looking for or her, but I slid in that DM.”

Chipukeezy expressed gratitude to Starlet for her assistance, noting that their friendship took an unexpected turn.

However, he emphasised the tragic nature of her death, stating:

“When I saw it, one thing that I said was that it does not matter what she did; nobody deserves to die like that. Our society is taking the wrong direction when it comes to that lifestyle.”

In response to Chipukeezy’s revelations, Pastor Victor Kanyari defended his late sister during a church service.

He revealed that Starlet’s mistake was trusting a stranger she met on social media, believing he loved her.

“My sister got involved with a man she met on social media, thinking he loved her. The man invited her for dinner, claiming to be wealthy,” explained Pastor Kanyari.

He continued, detailing how the assailant, later revealed as a serial killer, deceived Starlet into going to a club and getting a room for the night.

The situation took a tragic turn when the killer began demanding money from Starlet inside the room. Unable to reach her brother, Starlet faced threats and demands for Sh500,000.

The confrontation escalated, resulting in a fatal stabbing in the neck.

“My sister started withdrawing money from her bank, but it seems she started being resistant and they fought inside there,” recounted Pastor Kanyari.

The assailant locked Starlet inside the room, preventing her from seeking help or medical attention, ultimately leading to her untimely demise.
