Give me a job, not money – Mustapha requests CS Ababu Namwamba – Exclusive
Colonel Mustafa’s story of struggle and working at a construction site has captured the attention of the public, leading to his trending status for several weeks.
In response, he has received financial support from various individuals within the industry.
Recently, Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Sports and the Arts, Ababu Namwamba held a meeting with the musician and addressed his financial challenges that had garnered media attention.
In an interview with Nairobi News, the renowned artist shared insights about their discussion.

“He requested to meet me, and we did. He inquired about my needs, and I expressed my desire for employment to save and support my mother. I did not ask for money, pesa itaisha. He assured me that he would explore potential opportunities and keep me informed,” Colonel Mustafa revealed.
In addition, he mentioned receiving other job offers, although none have been confirmed at present.
Colonel Mustafa expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support he has received, including promises from fellow artists to visit him during the week.
He also mentioned the possibility of receiving assistance in the form of shopping or land, although specific details are yet to be determined.
“There are many job offers that I have also been given although none is confirmed as of now.”
Mr Namwamba has also provided reassurance to the artist regarding the government’s support in helping him regain stability in his life.
“We acknowledge the challenges you are facing, and as a ministry, I want to assure you that we are here to support you during this difficult phase.
We have devised a comprehensive plan that will aid in your recovery, enabling you to continue creating music and entertaining us,” stated Namwamba, who was accompanied by Principal Secretary Ismail Maalim.
“We are eager to witness your continued musical journey, as you inspire and mentor the younger generation of artists, guiding them towards success.
Your selfless act of ensuring your mother receives proper healthcare deserves admiration, and for that, we will stand by your side,” expressed the Cabinet Secretary.
