Family speaks on mystery death of Kiambu evangelist on eve of his wedding
Authorities in Githurai Sub-County are investigating the puzzling circumstances surrounding the sudden death of a man, mere hours before his scheduled wedding.
The lifeless body of Mr Fred Gitau was discovered within the confines of his residence on the fateful day of August 25, 2023.
This grim discovery unfolded just on the eve of his eagerly anticipated nuptials with Ms Joyce Waithera, a union set to take place at the Deliverance Church in Kahawa Sukari, Kiambu County.

Here is one of his last texts sent to friends inviting them to his wedding.
According to a relative who disclosed the chilling details to Nairobi News, Mr Gitau was found deceased, with a strange foam emanating from his mouth.
The intervention of law enforcement officers necessitated a young family member to enter the premises through a window, ultimately gaining access to the house from the inside.
A detective attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) who is privy to the ongoing investigations said that the deceased had raised concerns that his life was in danger.
“The family informed us that he had shared his worries saying that his life was in real danger and if anything happened to him then his sister should inform the police who was responsible,” said the sleuth who spoke in confidence as they are not authorised to address the media.
Revelations have emerged regarding Mr. Gitau’s occupation as a taxi driver. Eerily, the shirt intended for his wedding attire was discovered resting on the rear seat of his vehicle, on the very day of his passing.

Adding to the enigma, his uncle, deeply involved in the preparations leading up to the wedding, attempted to contact him on that fateful Friday. However, these calls remained unanswered, prompting the concerned uncle to alert the mother about the uncharacteristic silence.
In an effort to shed light on the events of Thursday, August 24, 2023, authorities are seeking statements from the best man and the maid of honor, who were reportedly the last individuals in the company of the deceased before the tragedy unfolded.
Perminus Muchangi, the police chief of Kiambu County, confirmed that the investigation is under the purview of DCI personnel.
“At this juncture, our dedicated detectives are actively engaged with the case, and we shall provide timely updates as developments unfold,” Mr Muchangi told Nairobi News.
