Grandpa to launch new face of the label
By JOSEPHINE MOSONGO
Grandpa Records will introduce a new face of the label in a few weeks. This as CEO Refigah prepares to put together and groom artiste managers who will take over from him when he retires in five years.
Speaking to Showbuzz, Refigah said he would make the announcement on February 6, the same day he will be celebrating 19 years in the local music industry. He, however, remained mum on who exactly would be the face of the stable.
“I’m planning to select a team that I will mentor to become managers in the industry because this kind of professionalism is what is lacking in our music business. I won’t reveal any names for now; we shall cross that bridge when we get there,” he said.
Meanwhile, he plans on promoting talent who rarely get a chance to make it big but will still work with established artistes.
“Grandpa has ruled since 2012; and 2016 will be even bigger. We are set for major collaborations across Africa,” he said.
