Nya never gave up on her dream of making music, even though she has had some tough times.

She opened up to the New York Post about her parents’ initial reluctance to support her career choice, stressing their preference for academic pursuits.

However, Nya’s undeniable talent and growing acclaim, including praise from respected judges such as Lionel Richie, has begun to change their perspective.

She also acknowledged her father for his unwavering support.

She wrote: “Baba, this is for you. Thank you for being my biggest support, getting me my first guitar, being my best friend and being my dad. I miss you so much and wish you were here in the flesh but I’m blessed to have you in the spirit always guiding me and I’m so happy to dedicate this song to you. Georgia will always be on my mind because of you and I love you in your loving memory, forever.
