Kidero takes another dig at Kenneth on live TV
Nairobi governor Evans Kidero on Thursday mocked his competitor Peter Kenneth saying that he hoped the latter has transferred his vote.
Kidero, who was being interviewed on Citizen TV’s Power Breakfast show, said all his competitors are seeking jobs and none of them can do what he has done for Nairobi for the last three years.
Asked to comment on who is eligible to vie for the position he holds, the governor said everyone has the right to vie in Nairobi so long as they are registered voters.
“You must be a Kenyan citizen, you must be registered as a voter, you don’t necessarily have to be registered as a voter in Nairobi. I hope he has transferred his vote from wherever he was,” said Kidero.
GUBERNATORIAL CONTEST
Kenneth contested for the presidency in the last general election and was a registered voter in Gatanga Constituency where he had been an MP since 2002.
The governor has in the past mocked Kenneth’s decision to move from being a presidential aspirant in 2013 to a gubernatorial aspirant in 2017.
The two clashed during a Sunday service where Kidero told Kenneth to beware that he doesn’t ended up vying for a much lower post of MCA.
Kenneth has on his part always insisted that his colleagues should sell their policies and plans for Nairobi as opposed to fighting individually for the chance to govern the city.
