Moses Kuria and Jubilee brigade run into hostile crowd in Kitui

A Jubilee party rally in Kitui town ended in disarray on Tuesday after residents shouted down its leaders.

The politicians were greeted by chants of “Wiper, Nasa and Unga” as they unsuccessfully tried to address the crowd at Kalundu market.

The team led by Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, nominated MP Johnson Sakaja and former Finance Minister Amos Kimunya were booed by the crowd.

The team had been accompanied by Jubilee parliamentary candidates among them Joe Mutambu (Mwingi Central) and Mwende Mwinzi (Mwingi West).

The Jubilee brigade had on Monday also been shouted down in Athi River, Machakos County, with some supporters pelting them with stones.

In Athi River the team had been accompanied by aspiring Mavoko MP Kalembe Ndile.
