Mr Seed: I was homeless for two years in Nairobi

Gospel singer Moses Tarus Omondi aka Mr Seed, has recounted his humble beginning saying at some point in life. He slept in the church because they did not have a home.

Speaking in an interview with TV 47, the popular singer said that was one of the lowest moments in his life.

“We would sleep on a church bench. There was a time I would exchange families,” he said.

At the time, Seed said his mum was unwell.

“Two years I was struggling in Nairobi alone. I would find a phone and I used to call my mum.”

Seed also spoke about his highest times when he moved his mother to a bigger house.

In March 2022, the Starborn Empire CEO shared a video on his official Instagram page gifting his mum with a piece of land.

He mentioned that the land he bought is in Matuu, Machakos County.

The singer also went down memory lane, remembering back in the days when his family could not even afford a meal – living hand to mouth.

“I bought a piece of land for my mum last year. To me it was a big thing since we have never had such. I still can’t believe I did that for me. It is not easy but I try so much to see to it that she is fine,” he said.

In January this year, Mombasa-based actress Elizabeth Sonia Michael threatened to sue the singer over child support.

The two, who dated for three years, have a seven-year-old son named Prince Faiz, with Sonia claiming that Mr Seed hasn’t seen the boy since 2019.

During a recent interview, Seed said he does not speak about his private life.

“I was brought up by a single mum. I respect every woman. I don’t want my kids to read things that I said about them,” he told Ofweneke.

Sonia took to her Instagram page, calling out the singer for not providing for the boy.

“For the last 7 years I have written such paragraphs and deleted them but I am tired. I want you to help me raise Junior, not send me money like you are doing me a favour and that is when I ask or shout. The only upkeep I take from you is school fees and it’s never on time,” she posted on Instagram.

Seed is married to Nimo Gachuiri, and they have a son.
