Muigai Wa Njoroge’s first wife Njeri says husband’s male friends hit on her

Njeri, the wife of veteran Kikuyu artiste Muigai wa Njoroge, has shared her experience of dealing with unwanted advances from friends of her husband via social media.

Speaking in an interview with Jeff Kuria on YouTube, she issued a stern warning against snooping on spouses’ phones.

Njeri emphasized the importance of respecting each other’s privacy, stating:

“That is torture. Why would you snoop on his phone, what are you hoping for? Even President Ruto warned Kenyans.” She advised couples to refrain from engaging in such behaviors, highlighting the potential dangers it poses to the relationship.

Cautioning women against checking their husband’s phones, Njeri remarked

“Leave that man’s phone alone, it’s dangerous; he is human, and why wouldn’t you expect that there will be a message from a girl greeting him?”

She expressed concern about the audacity of some women who, despite having no connection to the man, would send messages that could lead to misunderstandings.

“They have no shame, ‘Hi babe,’ and you have never spoken to her. Then your wife comes to snoop. She will be depressed. Leave the phone. I left that habit. Women still do that…” Njeri shared during the interview.

Admitting to receiving numerous messages from men herself, Njeri called for mutual respect, urging men also to refrain from checking their wives’ phones.

“Even men should leave their wife’s phones alone because there are men out there after us. Jeff, if I open my phone right now, you will see the messages. As a man, you will be depressed.”

Njeri stressed that these unsolicited advances were not her fault.

“And these men, some know my husband. They have no shame. So you see? Then you decide to go through my phone?”

Addressing the attention on her polygamous marriage, she shared insights into the challenges faced

“I am in the limelight, and everything we do is exposed. That’s the reason. I believe in the divine ways of God, so the challenges I have seen in my life are what God wanted for me to get here.”
