Parts of Nairobi to be hit by power blackout


Five regions, including parts of Nairobi County, will on Wednesday be hit by a blackout.

In a statement, the Kenya Power Company said the power interruptions will be are a normal maintenance process.

In a Twitter the company listed the areas to be affected by the power outage, including parts of Nairobi South Sub-County in areas of Umoja.

To be precise the areas within Umoja that will be affected include; Consolidated Bank, Umoja 1 sector D, E, F, G, H and J.

Other areas within the estate that will be affected include Deliverance Church, parts of Outering Road and adjacent customers.

Central Rift Region has also been listed as an area that will be affected by the power blackout. The specific listed areas to be precise include parts of Nakuru in the areas of the whole of Kampi Ya Moto, Lord Rajuela, Naithuiti, Morop Girls, Barkesen, Rafiki Center, Kabarak Moi Primary, Chapchap Center, East Gate, Chergei and adjacent customers.

In Western region, the following areas will be affected; Parts of Vihiga County in Cheptul Area. Other areas include; Kaimosi Complex, Sabatia, Tindinyo, Hamisi, Serem, Shamakhokho, Bumira, Cheptul Market, Banja, Shiru, Shaviringa, Mago and adjacent customers.

In South Nyanza Region the power outage will affect Homabay Area, Adudi Girls and Kosele. Other areas include Otel, Ober Boys, Kakelo, Dudi Girls, Kiwiro, Nyaramba, Duga, Nyalgosi, Kaditonge, Kosele and adjacent customers.

For months now the Kenya Power Company has been undertaking maintenance which have led to regular power outage across various parts of the country.
