Rapper Khaligraph Jones and songstress Nikita Kering have released a collabo titled Ex, a joint project on Coke Studio.

The project revolves around a captivating remix of Nikita’s original hit Ex, masterfully woven together with Khaligraph’s signature rap style and Nikita’s ethereal vocals.

Miriam Limo, the Head of Marketing for the brand in Kenya, shared her thoughts on the project saying:

“Through this project, we have witnessed a convergence of stories, styles, and the very soul of Kenyan music. It’s a reminder that our music is diverse, powerful, and unites us all, regardless of our backgrounds.”

At the event launch on July 6, Khaligraph said he was thrilled to team up with Nikita.

“I come from Kayole, and she hails from Karen, so it’s an exciting blend, and I can’t wait for people to witness what we’ve created together,” Khaligraph said.

Nikita noted that working with Khaligraph for her inaugural collaboration surpassed her expectations.

“I wasn’t sure how our styles would blend, but working with Khaligraph has been awesome. He is not only incredibly talented but also a sweetheart to work with. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to collaborate with on my first endeavor of this kind,” she said.

This year’s Coke Studio season marks a shift in its approach, adopting a more globally attuned format.

Departing from staged live performances and electronic renditions of nostalgic hits, Coke Studio has embraced an ‘always-on’ ethos.

The introduction of a web-based platform provides exclusive access to behind-the-scenes content and new music releases from the collaborative endeavors of partner artists, spotlighting a rich blend of global, regional, and local talent.

“We continue to work with the music industry more as partners to create elevated, music-driven content, storytelling, and experiences that reflect how fans are consuming content and engaging with the music and artists they love,” Caleb Ajidahun, Franchise Director of the company said.
