Power outage at IEBC makes netizens go into panic mode
A power outage at the IEBC headquarters at Anniversary Towers on Monday morning caused alarm among Kenyans on Twitter who questioned the commission’s readiness for the August 8 General Elections.
IEBC took to their its Twitter handle to call out Kenya Power and Lighting Company for help because the power blackout was interfering with operations.
The power outage at Anniversary Towers should be resolved asap. Hurting our operations @Kenya_Re @KenyaPower

The tweet by IEBC sent the online community on panic mode who questioned why the electotral commission has no back-up power sources to help in such situations.
IEBC were quick to respond, explaininng that were operating on generators duirng the period of the blackout.
This did not dissuade Kenyans on Twitter who bashed IEBC for not investing in a supplementary power source.
The power blackout was resolved after two hours and 21 minutes.
