Ruto acquires second Sh20 million vehicle for his motorcade


President William Ruto has acquired a brand new 2024 Lexus LX600 valued at Sh20 million ($93,915).

According to the official Lexus website, for this price tag, an owner gets to purchase it either in “eminent white pearl, atomic silver, nori green pearl, caviar or manganese lustre colours.”

The key features of this luxurious fuel guzzler include409 HP Twin Turbo V6 that produces 409 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque, making it the most powerful engine ever fitted to an LX, full-time 4WD, and Lexus safety system+2.5, a comprehensive safety system included in every LX. This integrated suite of advanced active safety equipment and convenience features is designed to help in certain circumstances, from providing pedestrian alerts to preventing lane drift.

Its exterior, a study in sophistication and strength, exhibits a silhouette that perfectly complements any road, on-road or off. In January 2023, barely months after assuming office, President Ruto unveiled a Sh20 million Lexus LX 570.

It’s features include a sunroof, keyless entry and ignition, a power liftgate, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree surround-view parking camera system. Additionally, the car can also tackle remote and rugged terrains in luxury.

The vehicle comes standard with a 383-horsepower, 5.7-liter V-8 engine that pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Four-wheel drive is standard.

President Ruto also has a Mercedes Benz Maybach S600 at his disposal for official use.
