Ruto, Chebukati in late night exchange of words
Deputy President William Ruto was late on Sunday involved in a war of words with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman Wafula Chebukati.
The DP launched the assault on Chebukati during a live interview on Citizen TV at 9pm, accusing the IEBC chairman of working with the opposition ahead of the repeat general elections.
NIGHT MEETINGS
“I’m aware Chebukati is meeting Nasa leaders at night. That could be why he is sending messages here and there, sensational memos. I’m asking him to stop the writing memos and concentrate on delivering a credible election,” Ruto said.
Chebukati, however, didn’t take all these accusations lying down. He responded in a midnight tweet, terming the utterances as “baseless and reckless.”
Rumors regarding my so called night meetings with NASA are baseless and reckless.
