Sean Andrew: I left all dating sites; they were just rubbish!

Sean Andrew Kibaki, the grandson of former President Mwai Kibaki, has shared his candid thoughts on the experience of dating through social media apps.

Speaking on Saturday during the grand opening of Chateau 254 Cellar Gastro Club, Sean spoke about his brief foray into dating apps.

Revealing the reason he stopped using dating sites, Sean said the conversations were great but ended at the apps.

“I left all the dating sites. They were all rubbish. It is all conversation that never leaves the app. You don’t meet the person, so why are you engaging in nice-worthy conversation?” he posed.

“We should communicate in person, and we should not be locked to these electronic devices. You need to meet the person, talk face to face, and I don’t think that happens through these applications,” he said.

Sean also admitted that peer pressure had played a role in his decision to try out dating apps, but he ultimately found them unfulfilling.

Despite encountering beautiful individuals, he said the conversations often lacked depth and excitement, leading him to withdraw from the digital dating scene.

“I ended up in the dating apps because of peer pressure. I left. It was not happening and we swiped so much notes. You meet beautiful people but they are boring. I am still just myself,” he said.

On his current status and the kind of partner he is looking for, Sean said he is not in a rush to find a relationship.

His sentiments reflected a focus on personal growth and the pursuit of building his legacy before committing to a romantic relationship.

“We don’t make the game easy. Come as you are, and we can see what you have,” he playfully remarked, suggesting that he values authenticity and genuine connections in any potential relationship.
