In the Eastleigh area of Kamkunji, Nairobi County, a tragic incident occurred where a woman, identified as Ms. Josephine Anyango, lost her life after being struck by a flower pot.

Ms. Anyango was out shopping in Eastleigh when the accident happened.

The police say that Ms Anyango was walking along Muratina Road when the flower pot fell from the top of a building and hit her.

“She was rushed to Al- Amin Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival,” a police report read in part.

Currently, the caretaker of the building has recorded a statement with the police over the incident.

Meanwhile, police in Huruma, Mathare Sub-County in Nairobi, are investigating the death of a welder.

Mr Felix Omamo, 27, who is well known by locals, was on the morning of Tuesday, July 18, 2023, found lying in a pool of fresh blood before police were called and took his body to the City Mortuary.

According to the police, Mr Omamo might have died due to stab wounds as he had injuries on his chest and the head.

“We heard a commotion, and when we stepped out, we saw Mr Omamo lying down writhing in pain. By the time we arrive at the scene, he had already died,” Ms Mary Akinyi, a local, said.

The motive behind the murder is yet to be known as sleuths attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are investigating what had transpired.

The police say that nothing was stolen from Mr Omamo as his phone and money were all intact in his pockets.

In other news, locals in Saika area along Kang’undo Road in Nairobi County have raised concerns over insecurity incidents in the area.

The locals say for the last week, a gang of youth has been attacking and stealing from locals as early as 8 pm.

They asked the police to beef up security in the area as they also conducted frequent patrols.
