The eagerly anticipated event will kick off with a Gala night on the 9th of March at the prestigious Lewis Leaky Auditorium, followed by a Matinee at The Two Grapes Bar and Restaurant on the 10th.

Tumi Morake, celebrated for her multifaceted talents as a comedian, actress, TV personality, and writer, will headline the show alongside an exceptional lineup of female comics.

Also sharing the spotlight is Kenya’s own Ciru Mwangi, voted Breakout Comedian of 2023, renowned for her relatable style that has endeared her to audiences across the country.

Adding to the laughter will be Shazz Nderitu, affectionately known as Mama Ngina, and Gaya Marina Garbaruk, originally from South Africa.

“Empowering women and promoting inclusivity within the entertainment industry have always been core values for Gilbey’s Gin. ‘Girls Aloud’ isn’t just a comedy special; it’s a testament to the incredible talent and creativity of women in comedy,” said Zipporah Ndung’u, Gilbeys Brand Manager, EABL.

“Our partnership with Punchline aims to inspire laughter, spark conversations, and ultimately, drive positive change in our society. We’re proud to stand alongside these remarkable comedians and play a role in shaping a more inclusive and vibrant entertainment landscape.”

The collaboration between Gilbeys and Punchline Comedy Club has been fruitful, with successful weekly comedy nights and two ticketed specials already hosted in Nairobi since the beginning of the year.

“As the founder of Punchline Comedy Club, I’ve always believed in the power of laughter to transcend boundaries and bring people together,” said Eric Lu Sava, Founder Punchline Comedy Club.

“Through laughter, we break down barriers, challenge stereotypes, and celebrate the rich tapestry of human experience. I am truly excited to witness the laughter and camaraderie that ‘Girls Aloud’ will inspire.”
