Varsity student accused of sharing intimate photos of self with married woman


A University student has been charged with harassing a fellow man on Facebook.

Steven Wanjohi was arraigned at the Milimani law Courts in Nairobi where he was charged with sending harassing text messages to Joel Thuo Mwangi.

The charge sheet read: “You are charged that on diverse dates at unknown place knowingly published false information to wit unasemanga uko na bibi (you claim to have a wife) using your Facebook account Steven Kamande. The message was sent to Joel Thuo Mwangi, knowing it to be false information and calculated to cause fear and panic to the said joel and his family ” read the charge sheet in part.

Wanjohi is also accused of sending intimate messages of himself and Wanjohi’s wife.

He was charged, before Nairobi chief Magistrate Wendy Kagendo, of distributing intimate images of the complainant wife knowingly to be false and calculated to cause fear to the said Wanjohi and his family.

The student who is facing three counts is also said to have threatened to kill Esther Nduta Githinji and her entire family between the dates of May 2021 and January 2022 at unknown place with the Republic of Kenya.

He pleaded not guilty before the criminal chief Magistrate court and was granted a cash bail of Ksh100,000.
