Why Milly Chebby had to cancel her ‘Convo Corner’ event

Content creator and media personality Milly Chebby has explained the cancellation of her highly anticipated event, Convo Corner, which was originally scheduled for December.

Speaking to Nairobi News, the mother of one shared that the decision to reschedule the event was driven by a combination of factors, including timing and logistical challenges.

Chebby revealed that they opted to move the event to a more flexible month to ensure its success and maintain the integrity of their vision.

“December has been unusually packed with events this year,” she noted.

“Every single weekend day has an event, from Sean Paul on the 1st to multiple events on the 7th, including Evelyn Wanjiru, TMI, and many others.”

She explained that the crowded calendar posed a challenge to securing adequate attention and attendance for Convo Corner.

Addressing ticket pricing concerns that surfaced online, Chebby clarified that nearly 50 per cent of tickets had been sold despite claims of backlash over the Ksh 5,000 price tag.

“The speakers we had lined up and the experience we envisioned were worth every penny,” she said.

“Anyone who knows what Convo Corner is about understands the value we were offering.”

Another significant factor behind the rescheduling was the unexpected unavailability of one of her key speakers.

Milly Chebby described the speaker as a highly respected woman who played a major role in shaping the event’s vision. “She got booked for an impromptu international gig, and while she requested we proceed without her, I could not imagine holding the event without this person,” Milly Chebby said.

“Her presence is integral to the dream we had for Convo Corner, and I want everyone to experience her wisdom and insight.”

Milly Chebby reassured fans and ticket holders that the rescheduled event, planned for early next year, will live up to its promise.

“I have experienced what she has to offer, and I know attendees will learn so much from her when the time comes. It will be worth the wait.”
