Willis Raburu shows off his weight loss progress after gastric bypass

Citizen TV host Willis Raburu has showed off his weight loss progress a year after he did a gastric bypass surgery.

In a post, Raburu shared when he started off he was at 164kgs and he had lost 40, with him weighing 124kilos a year after.

Further, he discouraged his fans from being fooled by the advertisements on black latte tea and powder saying they would not work.

He also explained that he wishes insurance companies paid up the procedure for Kenyans as it would be beneficial to so many.

“I remember when I thought about doing the gastric bypass surgery. It was intense, but I was suffering. My confidence was low, my pressure was high, I had tried gym but kept bouncing back and honestly the cost will make you think twice BUT I learned that it’s an investment in myself,” he started off.

Then added, “I wish insurance companies change their policy and help pay for this. Many should come out and help people get this surgery done. It’s life changing! Statistics show that children now are getting more and more obese. Folks let’s keep talking and learning. I’m available.”

Having spent Sh900,000 on the procedure, the media personality in the past shared that the surgery helps reduce the amount of food that one eats.

“I used to eat more than six chapattis and visit KFC regularly. But now I don’t eat much. I know this is a lasting solution,” he said.

Additionally, Raburu also said that he faced cyber-bullying because of his weight.

“I have gone through a lot because of my weight. I loved myself and just decided to ignore people’s comments. But I would advise people to appreciate themselves and accept that they need help,” he revealed.

Gastric bypass is a type of weight loss surgery that involves creating a small pouch from the stomach and connecting the newly created pouch directly to the small intestine.
