Uhuru Kenyatta storms Jubilee Party headquarters, KOT react
Kenyans on Twitter have shared varied reactions after former President Uhuru Kenyatta stormed Jubilee party headquarters on April 26, 2023.
Mr Kenyatta, who is the Jubilee party chairman, visited the political outfit’s headquarters in Nairobi in a bid to stem a fracas that had been witnessed at the secretariat for the better part of the day.
Although Mr Kenyatta vowed to protect his political party, others criticized him saying he should enjoy his retirement peacefully.
Others suggested that the Jubilee party is already dead and should be forgotten.
The party is already dead . There’s no party . They should sell the remnants of Jubilee and share the proceeds.

UHURU KENYATTA has no impact on The Jubilee Party.
A Party with less than 10 supporters behind him and more than 100 behind President William Ruto @WilliamsRuto in the UDA.
Kanini Kega will undoubtedly outwit Jeremiah Kioni, never to be seen again in the political landscape. pic.twitter.com/a1SAHjdE9B

Mr Kenyatta was warmly welcomed by his political affiliates including Secretary-general Jeremiah Kioni at the Jubilee Party Headquarters.
The former head of state then vowed to protect the interests of the party from people he referred to as ‘outsiders’.
He further implored on party members who are not happy and willing to quit even as he lauded Kioni for standing firm amid opposition from within and without.
“Everybody who wants to leave the party is free to leave and join another party…mimi nawashukuru kwa kulinda chama yenu (I thank you for taking care of the party),” Mr Kenyatta said.
This follows a clash between supporters of EALA MP Kanini Kega and those of Kioni over the party leadership.
Kega, who was appointed by the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) as acting secretary-general and his team were denied access to the party premises as Kioni stayed put.
The Political Party Tribunal recently revealed that the party followed the law in suspending Kioni and party vice chairperson David Murathe, but the attempt by the other group to take over was met with opposition.
