Queen of comedy Anne Kansiime, known for her unique take on everyday African situations in the most hilarious manner, is in town for her first ever paid up performance in the country.

The the 28-year-old Ugandan rib cracker, who will be part of a stellar cast of top acts at this weekend’s Extreme Comedy Night, has promised her Kenyan fans a memorable experience.

“I love Kenyans because they are the ones who first appreciated my talent and encouraged me to record and post my performance on YouTube,” Kansiime said in an exclusive interview with Nairobi News on Friday.

BEST FOR LAST

“My only fear is disappointing my fans here in Kenya. But they should rest assured that I take away their worries on Saturday night,” she added.

On why she has never performed to a paid up audience in Kenya, yet she has traveled and performed in so many countries Kansiime said: “I saved the best for last, I wanted to make sure that my Kenyan fans get the best of me.”

However, having been in comedy for the last 9 years and counting, Kansiime has had to overcome many challenges including fighting for her place in a male-dominated industry.

Kansiime will share the stage at Carnivore Restaurant on Saturday night with some top acts including Jalang’o, Chipukeezy and Dr Ofweneke.
