All about President William Ruto’s Sh 178k calf leather Christian Louboutin shoes

As he met with Sultan Ahmed Al Jabar, the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology of the Arab Emirates- who is also the head of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company and Chairman of Masdar on the sidelines of the World Governments Summit, Dubai on February 12, 2024, Kenya’s President William Ruto stepped out in Sh 178,620 pair of shoes.

As he continues financially burdening Kenyans with numerous new and increased taxes in a quest to raise funds for government operations- and promising austerity measures during his days on the presidential campaign trail- his wardrobe continues to be conspicuously expensive in light of a section of Kenyans failing to have enough food to eat, money to pay bills and jobs to meet their basic needs but are required to fund the government including paying civil servants’ salaries.

His wardrobe – including his expensive Bvlgari watch and SR’ gold buckle crocodile leather belt from previous public sightings- continues to be tone deaf where the economic plight of millions of Kenyans is concerned.

In Dubai, he wore $1,145 brown My Amor W Christian Louboutin Oxford shoes which the luxurious fashion house described as “A sophisticated Oxford shoe, the My Amor showcases Maison Christian Louboutin’s expertise. Crafted in Havane brown patinated calf leather, this elegant style features delicate finishing details. An urban model with sleek lines, it is also suitable for special occasions.”

The fashion house also provides information on how the shoes should be cared for.

“In order to keep your products in good condition, the following general leather care is recommended: Keep the leather area clean and dry using a dry soft cloth, always store your products away from light and heat, protect your leather products from rain and moisture, store your products in the Christian Louboutin dust bag provided and avoid contact with abrasive surfaces.

The red lacquer of the soles wears out with use. This is not a manufacturing defect; it is simply normal wear and tear. Christian Louboutin strongly recommends that our customers consult a professional in leather care or a shoemaker for specific care advice,” read the Product Care literature on Christian Louboutin’s official website.

At the end of January 2023, President Ruto was also spotted with a Sh 8.7 million rose gold Octo Finissimo Bvlgari watch. He had been in Meru County on tour.

The nearest Bvlgari store in which a Kenyan can shop for this watch, according to their website, is either in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, Amsterdam in the Netherlands, Auckland, Bal Harbor in Florida, USA, Bangkok in Thailand, Barcelona, Beijing in China, Berlin in Germany, Istanbul in Turkey, Beverly Hills in California, USA, Boston, Brussels, Busan in South Korea, Cancun in Mexico, Cannes or Tokyo among several others.

Prior to that, he had also been spotted on the road with a Sh Sh428,000 ‘SR’ gold buckle crocodile skin belt.
