Betty Kyallo and MC Jessy make grand comeback in the media

Media personality-cum-entrepreneur Betty Kyallo has made a grand comeback in the media space. Betty will now be hosting a show on NRG Radio every Thursday from 3pm to 7pm.

Betty, who quit the screens three years, will host the show alongside award-winning comedian MC Jessy and DJ Malaika.

MC Jessy is also returning to the media after an unsuccessful political venture. The comedian, whose real name is Jasper Muthomi, unsuccessfully contested Imenti South parliamentary seat last year an independent candidate. He lost to Dr Shadrack Mwiti who ran on a Jubilee Party ticket.

Making the announcement on his social media accounts, MC Jessy wrote: “Habari Ndiyo Hiyo. Moto Kana Pasi…!!! Kesho afternoon my @bettymuteikyallo @djmalaika and will be on @nrgradiokenya”

Initially, MC Jessy wanted to vie for the seat on the UDA party ticket but his party leader William Ruto, who was then the Deputy President, prevailed upon him to step down for Mwiti Kathaara.

“MC Jessy (Jasper Muthomi) will join the presidential campaign team after postponing his parliamentary bid in favour of Mwiti Kathaara for the South Imenti Seat,” Dr Ruto tweeted back then.

MC Jessy, however, announced took a U-turn and ran as an independent.

“Sent like an arrow from a mighty man’s hand. We keep going… bado tuko kwa race. Let’s do this South Imenti, on August 9, it is. Thank you my boss Deputy President Dr William Ruto for your counsel. My support for you remains intact!” he wrote then.

On the other hand, Betty quit K24 in 2020, where she had served for two years, having previously left KTN in 2018.

A year after quitting K24, Betty started a new TV show where she put Kenyan wives and their mothers-in-law to the test.

Almost a year after, Betty and her sisters started a reality show dubbed Kyallo Kulture where they opened up about all aspects of their lives.
