Double speak? KOT retrieve video of Junet with sentiments as DP Gachagua
Suna East MP Junet Mohammed’s doublespeak has caused an online frenzy with Kenyans on Twitter (KOT), as well as Kenya Kwanza-affiliated politicians, calling him out.
The politician had earlier castigated Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua following his remarks that the Kenya Kwanza government will first reward loyalties.
In a tweet attaching the video of the second-in-command making the utterances, Junet said, “If the government of the Republic of Kenya has become a company with shareholders then How will all Kenyans pay TAXES to a company belonging to two individuals? Haiya!!@ahmednasirlaw”

KOT then dug into Twitter archives and retrieved a video of Mr Mohammed on a campaign trail in Nyanza saying if the Azimio la Umoja party leader Raila Odinga won the August 2022 polls, some politicians would-be visitors in government.
“If baba wins, us Nyanza people will have the government. I do not want journalists to hear that. Mutahi Kagwe can be very angry but they have been in power for over 20 years. This time the government will be for the Nyanza people. Mutahi you will come here as a visitor,” he said.
Put to task, Mr Mohammed defended his remarks and suggested he did not mean what he said.
While responding to lawyer Ahmednassir Abdullahi, Mr Mohammed said: “SC you are right but because you are a jua kali politician let me teach you a bit of politics. You talk this way when you are campaigning and looking for votes but when you get it, the game changes and you become the leader of all.”
In response, Kabando wa Kabando, a defector from NARC Kenya, Martha Karua’s political outfit corrected Junet saying, “Jatelo Jatenda Jarateng’ Junet, no, you don’t do this. That was a negative campaign and negative politics, and it cost Baba some votes/goodwill. When you are down, stop kicking. When in a hole, stop digging deeper. Truth is, even your being MC in our Mt.Kenya Campaigns wasn’t smart.”
