Drama over Nigerian singer Tems’ ‘selfish’ Oscar gown
Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi popularly known as Tems, is trending for all the right and wrong reasons depending on which side you are on.
Tems was among the celebrities who wore their best outfits at the Oscars to celebrate the best in music and film.
But despite the conglomeration of the crème de la crème in Hollywood, her dress captured the critics’ eye.
Tems wore a white dress with an attached headpiece that appeared to have caused some of the guests at the event some discomfort.
In photos and videos shared online, some guests sitting behind Tems appear to be struggling to see the front.
This aroused mixed reactions from netizens who took sides in condemning and justifying her look.

I actually agree;
1. She’s over-and weirdly dressed for this event; she forgot she’s (an over-hyped) musician here and dressed as such
2. This Tems woman doesn’t have of her Own projects that win anything; Lattaché-Bon-Bon.

Tems was nominated for an Oscar for her work on Rihanna’s song ‘Lift Me Up’ from the Wakanda Forever soundtrack, making her the first Nigerian to be nominated for an Oscar.
It’s the latest accolade for the singer-songwriter recently shortlisted for a Golden Globe and Grammy Award.
The Academy Awards, better known as the Oscars, are awarded for artistic and technical merit for the American film industry. The awards are regarded by many as the most prestigious, significant awards in the entertainment industry in the United States.
