‘God, light my way,’ CS Moses Kuria’s reaction after cabinet reshuffle

The newly appointed Public Service Cabinet Secretary (CS) Moses Kuria has taken a notably spiritual turn following the recent cabinet reshuffle.

Formerly serving in the Ministry of Trade, Kuria swiftly embraced his newfound role.

Shortly after his reassignment, he posted an image of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua without offering any additional context, leaving the interpretation open to the public.

In addition, Moses Kuria also shared Elijah Miller’s well-known gospel song, Ihinda Riakinya (When the Time Comes), which delivers a powerful message about divine blessings manifesting at the perfect juncture, irrespective of the obstacles faced.

The song also inspires individuals to persevere and never lose hope.

In another tweet, the former Trade CS, Moses Kuria, shared a gospel song by Paul Waiganjo, Wi Ngai Mahinda Mothe (You are God all the time) emphasising God’s unwavering faithfulness.

Kuria also sought divine guidance, expressing that he felt surrounded by darkness, as conveyed in a song by John Murage.

The song highlights the challenges of facing enemies but ultimately finding solace in God’s rescue.

Moses Kuria and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua have recently had public disagreements.

In September, during a speech in Siaya County, CS Moses Kuria refuted Deputy President Gachagua’s statement that government positions were reserved for supporters of the Kenya Kwanza movement.

Kuria asserted that Kenya was for everyone, regardless of origin or political affiliation.

Despite these differences, Deputy President Gachagua has consistently maintained that he has no issues with CS Kuria and has dismissed calls for his dismissal from office.

CS Kuria also garnered attention when he predicted that fuel prices would continue to rise until February 2024, a statement that some Kenyans found disrespectful.

This prompted demands for his resignation or removal by President William Ruto.

However, Deputy President Gachagua quashed rumours of animosity between him and the Trade CS, emphasising their harmonious working relationship.

“I saw newspapers reporting yesterday that there is a problem on the mountain (Mount Kenya region) that I might fight with Moses Kuria. I’m the Deputy President; he is our worker. Can an employer fall out with his employee?” he posed.

Deputy President Gachagua affirmed that he would not allow Mr Kuria to be ousted from the government, dispelling any speculations of a rift between them.
