UDA appoints Rufftone to oversee grassroots elections in Nairobi


The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has released a list of 16 individuals who will oversee its grassroots elections.

In a statement, the party said that the leaders were named following plans of having grassroots elections in the coming days.

“It is notified for general information that the UDA Party, in preparation for the upcoming grassroots elections, has made the appointments of regional and county managers,” the party said in a statement.

Among the notable appointments is musician Rufftone – real name Smith Mwatia, who will serve as the manager in Nairobi County.

The regional managers include Khalif Abdi Adhan, who will manage the Coastal region. The specific counties he is in charge of include Taita Taveta, Mombasa, Kwale, Kilifi, Tana River and Lamu.

In the Central region, Mr Benard Nguruna was picked as the manager, and he will oversee the counties of Nakuru and Nyandarua.

In the South Rift, Mr Kiprotich Ngetich was picked as the manager, and he will oversee the counties of; Bomet and Kericho.

Mr Paul Kiprop will be the manager of the North Rift, and he will run the counties of; Nandi, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet and Trans Nzoia.

In Mount Kenya East, Mr Albert Mutani will be the manager. He will be in charge of, Tharaka Nithi, Meru and Embu.

Idle Muhamud will run the party’s grassroots elections in the North Eastern region. The counties he will oversee include; Mandera, Garissa and Wajir.

Ms Martha Wahome will be in charge of Central Kenya one. She will run the counties of Nyeri and Kirinyaga whilst Mr Peter Mbogo will be in charge of Central Kenya Two and will run the counties of Kiambu and Murang’a.

In Upper Eastern, Mr Wario Galma Guracho will run the party’s affairs in the counties of Isiolo and Marsabit.

In the Eastern Rift, Esther Ndung’u was picked as the manager of Laikipia and Samburu Counties, while in the North Rift two region, Mr Francis Kibai was picked as head and he will oversee the counties of; Baringo, West Pokot and Turkana.

In the Western Region, Mr Alex Khamasi, who will be in charge of Kakamega, Busia, Bungoma and Vihiga Counties, was appointed manager.

Mr Ezekiel Bosire was picked as the leader in South Nyanza.

In Narok and Kajiado Counties, the manager is Mr Supeet Rais Daniel.
