H_ART The Band celebrates a decade in music with fifth album

Kenya’s formidable trio H_art The Band is gearing up to launch their eagerly awaited fifth album, “Time: Love H_art Emojis.”

A testament to their unwavering dedication, the album is a harmonious blend of artistry, passion, and resilience, chronicling the roller-coaster journey of love, life, and relationships.

Set for release on October 6, 2023, “TIME” is more than just an album; it’s a conceptual masterpiece that delves into the chronology of the human experience.

Through ten compelling tracks, it explores the ebb and flow of life, accompanied by a symphony of soul-stirring melodies and honest lyrics.

“TIME” serves as both a heartfelt tribute to the complexities of existence and a window into the band’s musical evolution over the past decade.

It encapsulates the collective heart and soul of H_art The Band, honed through years of passion and tenacity.

The album cover, a vibrant creation, was a collaborative effort with award-winning animator Ambrose from BackBench Animations, known for his work on the band’s previous album.

The cover features a colourful, classic circular timepiece adorned with various emojis that symbolise the myriad emotions and stages in a relationship.

“In a fast-paced world, we felt the need to use our music to help people slow down, listen, breathe, and take a moment for themselves,” shared Kenchez, one of the band members and CEO.

H_art The Band invested nearly a year, starting from December 2022, to craft “TIME,” showcasing an unwavering work ethic reflective of their remarkable journey. Mordecai Dex, the band’s lead vocalist and C.F.O., revealed, “With this album, the idea was to slow down things and return to the band’s original acoustic sound. It’s not just about chilled and laid-back hits; the album exudes emotional resonance drawn from our journey.”

“TIME” has been produced by the acclaimed Martin Gwandho, also known as MG, recognized for his work on hits like “Uliza Kiatu” and “Nikikutazama.” The project has been a collaborative endeavor, featuring contributions from producers like Kobby Worldwide on two tracks and Rixx from Magic House Ltd., who produced the bonus track. Renowned musicians such as Eric Wainaina and rising vocalist Phyl the Kangogo have also added their magic to the project.

Award-winning animator Ambrose, from BackBench Animations has beautifully depicted the album’s themes of love, life, and relationships.

Distinguishing itself from their previous albums, “Time” is a symbol of dedication, a love letter to their fans, and a testament to their artistic growth. Behind its seemingly carefree title, “TIME” is a meticulously curated collection of flawlessly executed tracks.

H_art The Band’s story is a testament to the enduring power of music. Since their debut single, “Uliza Kiatu,” in 2014, the band has survived and thrived, encapsulating the essence of their experiences in “Time.” This project is poised to resonate with both devoted fans and newcomers alike.

“Time” will be available on October 6th, 2023, on major digital streaming platforms, including Spotify, Deezer, Amazon Music, SoundCloud, Tidal, Apple Music, and more.
