‘I am depressed…’ Journalist Kimani Mbugua confesses on a TikTok live session

Journalist Kimani Mbugua has stirred a wave of concern among online audiences after he went live on TikTok to discuss his ongoing mental health challenges.

In the live video, Kimani appeared visibly distressed, with slurred speech, prompting worry from Kenyans regarding his well-being.

Accompanied by a few friends who struggled to comprehend his words, Kimani revealed that he was battling depression and felt the need for medication to alleviate his struggles.

“I am depressed. I need medication. They are very expensive,” Kimani conveyed with evident difficulty during the live session.

Viewers who joined the live session expressed their concern, urging those around him to end the live broadcast and attend to his needs.

A segment of the video was later shared on his Instagram, where he captioned it, “Hazitawai shuka,” as he laughed uncontrollably.

In the video, Kimani walked around in an emotional state, sharing his thoughts on life and his current challenges.

“Kama umenitumia pesa relax, what is life..” he expressed, seeking understanding from those watching.

“I’m a live reporter, what’s your name,” he asked, his emotions fluctuating. “All of us, we are doing a journey hehehe. Let us go live, all of us.”

As he continued to walk and share his thoughts, Kenyans in the comment section expressed their distress, with one fan stating:

“This boy is really struggling, he needs some serious counseling and motivation. I really feel him; I’ve always wanted to see him back to permanent normalcy. I’m really broken seeing this.”

This latest video comes after Kimani Mbugua’s previous heartfelt plea for assistance in September, where he shared his ongoing battle with bipolar mood disorder and the challenges he faced, including the loss of his career.

In a subsequent video, Kimani expressed gratitude for the support he received, enabling him to acquire essential tools to rebuild his life, including a phone and a laptop.

Despite these positive steps, his recent live video has raised renewed concerns about his mental health and well-being.
