Below are a few of these ‘ordinary’ Kenyans whose posts turned them into celebrities overnight:

Dennoh Spinner – He is the most recent Kenyan to the hearts of thousands on Twitter after his father-son Naivasha moment won massive praises online. Dennoh took his young son for a trip in Naivasha to watch the WRC Safari Rally and captured their moments together.

Kevin Mboya – Armed with the urge to surprise his girlfriend, Mboya left to Kitale days before Valentines and shared his excursion with Kenyans on Twitter.

“I have travelled all the way from Nairobi to Kwale to come and surprise my girlfriend on her birthday. I haven’t texted or called her in the last 24hrs, she maybe thinks I forgot it’s her birthday. I am waiting for her just outside her office to surprise her. I hope it goes well,” he captioned photos of a bouquet of flowers.

Anxiety and anticipation filled the air as Mboya made Kenyans wait for almost 24hours while companies throwing themselves at him with different offers.

Lukersia Robai – Viral TikTok nurse, Lukresia Robai, popularly known as the dancing nurse, gained celebrity status last year after she was captured dancing to the popular toddler’s song ‘Baby Shark’ to a hospitalized child.

Robai, who was then second-year student at Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Kitale campus, said cheering up others comes easily for her and warms up her heart.

In that particular video, Robai revealed that she had been motivated by a young boy who had responded positively to her dance moves when she administered drugs in the paediatric ward.

“I was just attracted to the boy because he was jovial. I have a way I engage with the young patients, like making some dancing steps to lighten them up. I did the video when I realised the boy was cheerful,” she said.

Miondoko chief – John Ogilo Migun had just visited a popular joint in Kisumu with his colleagues when the DJ played one of his favourite songs and could not help himself.

While he did not know that someone was filming him as he danced, the 38-year-old gracefully let out his moves as he danced to Vic West, Fathermoh, Brandy Maina, Savara Mudigi and Thee Exit Band’s song Kuna Kuna.
