Joho okays divorce to Italian wife
Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has okayed a divorce to his Italian wife Madina Giovanni Fazzini and committed to supporting the couple’s two children whom are aged below 18.
Nairobi News understand the flamboyant politician, through his lawyer, went through the process of dissolving the decade old union at the Kadhi courts in Mombasa.
Joho’s response comes barely two weeks after his now ex-wife asked the court to dissolve the marriage while issuing a set of demands.
The Governor was given 14 days to respond to the request and accusations.
Fazzini had told court the marriage is broken beyond repair as the couple have been living separately for the past eight years.
“There is no hope or possibility of reconciliation or compromise of whatsoever nature between me and the governor,” she said in the court papers.
Fazzini accused Joho of moving out of their matrimonial home in 2013 forcing her to relocate to Malindi.
