Kasarani fall: Woman thrown from second floor speaks up as suspects are arrested

Nairobi News has obtained an amateur video of Ms Cynthia Mboya, who was allegedly thrown from the second floor of Q apartments in Clay City, Kasarani.

In the video, members of the public can be seen questioning her after she landed on the ground.

Ms. Mboya revealed that she had visited her boyfriend, Mr. Collins Kiptoo, before their altercation led to her falling.

When asked, she denied being a student and mentioned that she had already informed her father of her danger.

“Naitwa Cynthia Mboya nanimetoka Ruiru (My name is Cynthia Mboya. I’m from Ruiru),” she told the residents who were questioning her.

The altercation began when Ms Mboya accused Mr Kiptoo and his friend, Mr Ian Kipkorir, of being in a relationship with another woman.

She then broke Mr. Kiptoo’s television, leading to a physical altercation that resulted in her falling from the second floor.

Mr Kiptoo and Mr Kipkorir have been arrested and are set to appear in court on Tuesday, April 11, 2023.

The prosecution team will request that they be held in custody for 14 days while investigations continue.

Ms. Mboya is receiving treatment at Neema Uhai Hospital and is in fair condition. She is expected to record a statement with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) team.

According to a police report, a civilian reported the incident to the authorities, and the police arrived to find that neighbours had already rescued Ms Mboya.

The detective handling the case stated that a scuffle broke out between the trio after Ms Mboya’s accusation.
