KOT questions Deputy President’s favoritism to Kenya Kwanza supporters
Kenyans on Twitter are now questioning the integrity of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua after claiming that those who voted for the Kenya Kwanza government will benefit greatly.
Speaking on Sunday, February 19, 2023, after visiting various projects in Kericho, the second in command stated that he has tasked himself to ensure that all those who voted for the Kenya Kwanza government get plumb positions in government.
“The government is a company. Here there are those who get good shares, some small and others none. It’s applicable now because those who believes in us are now reaping hefty. They are enjoying the fruits of their seeds,” noted Gachagua.

The Deputy President also said he would not allow those busy making noise and supporting Azimio la Umoja One Kenya to benefit from their government.
“I am the one overseeing the reward process. If I see one who never supported us demanding for a top position, I elbow them and reward our supporters,” he added as the crowd laughed.
However, his sentiment has been received with mixed reactions.
“Some are criticising me for saying those who sowed reap first, but there is nothing wrong. Their time of reaping will come some day in what remains after those who sowed have finished reaping,” said Gachagua.
He insisted that those who voted the other way must learn a lesson about elections.
“Elections have significance. You cannot make noise talking ill of Ruto and after he wins you get in line to get benefits before those who were with him.”
The DAP-Kenya party said that Gachagua should be told that the error of egocentric dictators Kuchagua Maendeleo for one region and neglecting others ended when the new constitution came.
“He should be reminded who were the best Governors in the last 10 years of Devolution,” the part wrote on their Twitter page.
On the other hand, Makueni senator Dan Maanzo said that, “The DP is very honest, there are running a company, not a government. They say Kenya is for everybody, but from what the Deputy said, this is a Country for two tribes… Those from Central and Rift Valley.”

I think DP is just sincere. Even if I was the one dishing out the favours I will start with my supporters and this is obvious

The government is a service provider, not a company.
And efficient service delivery demands absolute competent employees, not loyal/staunch supporters.— matasha oitayu (@oitayu_matasha) February 20, 2023
Government is government huge difference between constitution and act of parliament which companies are established under.

You are right, Mr. Gachagua. However, Kenya isn't a private company where shareholders differ in shares quantity. It's a public company where all shareholders must enjoy any plus all benefits coming through. Maybe you failed in business studies. You're just a director we can fire
