NTV poach two senior KTN journalists
NTV has poached two seasoned journalists from Kenya Television Network (KTN).
The two, namely Nicholas Wambua and Janet Chapia, who previously worked as a news reporter and editor respectively, were spotted at Nation Centre on Tuesday morning while on an induction tour of the newsroom.
“Nicholas Wambua will be a Swahili editor while Janet Chapia an English editor in NTV,” explained a source in the newsroom.
The duo join NTV barely a month after Joe Ageyo, a senior and respected journalist from Citizen TV, was also roped in.
The threesome is expected to beef up the newsroom and reporting during this political season.
Nicholas Wambua who is proficient in the Swahili language is known for his well-researched investigative stories.
“I’ve been threatened in the past for working on investigations. But this acts as motivation,” he explained in a previous interview.
Meanwhile, Janet Chapia a news editor with proficiency in media production was named amongst top 200 Most Influential African Women in 2020.
Skilled in broadcasting, news writing, editing, and media relations Janet started off as a journalist at Royal Media Services in 2004 before joining KTN.
A leading brand among the Nation Media Group (NMG) stable which also includes Daily Nation, Nation.Africa and Nairobi News, NTV is among the most-watched television stations in Kenya.
