Rowdy youth kidnap ODM election board member

An election board member of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party was Sunday kidnapped by youths who demanded for a nomination certificate.

Hellen Mairuko Katangie was abducted from her house along Mugo Kabiru road in Woodley at 5pm.

The ODM National elections board member told police that the youths who abducted her were demanding for a nomination certificate and as they frog matched her to the party headquarters she was rescued by the said aspirant.

According to a police report filed at Kilimani Police Station, “a crowd of approximately 2000 youths invaded her compound and demanded Paul Obia’s (Woodley MCA candidate) nomination certificate.”

STOLE VALUABLES

The group frog matched the board member towards the party headquarters at Orange House and in the process stole valuable from her.

“They snatched her watch make Timex valued at Sh20, 000 and a gold wedding ring valued at Sh60,000 and tore her dress,” read the police report.

She was however rescued at Jamhuri by another aspirant who was in the company of Obia the Woodley MCA aspirant.

Paul Obia was battling it out with Henry Victor Okoth, Ben Kiptoo Songok and Lumumba P. Owade for the ODM ticket in the ward that is in Kibra Constituency.
