Podcaster Eli Mwenda makes social media comeback following assault

Barely two weeks ago, Kenyan influencer and podcaster Eli Mwenda made a surprising announcement on Instagram informing his followers about an unfortunate incident that had occurred, resulting in a deep gash on his face.

Due to the severity of the injury, he underwent surgery to prevent any permanent scarring. As a result, Eli decided to take an indefinite social media break in order to prioritize his health and well-being.

“On Sunday night, I was assaulted while leaving an event. During the attack, I did not retaliate. This assault led to my face being sliced open,” Eli wrote following the incident.

Eli’s decision to undergo surgery was crucial to ensure that his face healed properly, allowing him to return to his work.

In a new post, the influencer has expressed gratitude for the support he received during his time off.

“The surgery went perfectly, and my face is nearly back to normal with no permanent scars. We thank God. I can’t express my gratitude for all the beautiful messages I’ve received during my time off. Thank you to everyone that sent flowers, cards, chocolates, and other gifts,” he said.

Eli chose not to publicly identify the attacker, stating that he personally knows the person responsible. He said he believes a person should not be defined solely by one poor decision.

“Although I forgive him wholeheartedly on a personal level, I have still followed all official channels to prevent this from happening to anyone else,” Eli said.

During his break, Eli took the opportunity to engage in activities that promoted his well-being.

“Here’s a little glimpse of what I’ve been up to. I’ve had some well-overdue alone time to read, binge movies, journal, reflect, meditate, and ultimately breathe. It’s been glorious,” he updated his followers.

While he expressed his eagerness to get back to work and create content for his audience, Eli recognized the importance of taking the time to fully recover and regain his strength.

“Special shout out to my clients that have been accommodating and extremely supportive. I appreciate you and can’t wait to get creating again! Back to work, baby!” Eli exclaimed.
