President Ruto is my personal friend – Jalango on leaving Azimio

Lang’ata Member of Parliament Felix Odiwuori alias Jalang’o has clarified his political stance and loyalty to Azimio party leader Raila Odinga.

Speaking on Citizen TV today morning, Jalang’o stated that in as much as he agrees with some of President Ruto’s strategic plans, he will not be changing sides.

On the show, Jalango talked about the Hustler’s Fund and the potential it has to help the youth.

A member of KOT pointed out how agreeable Jalang’o is to the Kenya Kwanza plans considering he is a member of the opposition.

The tweep, @BobOtienoOwino wrote, “I see a Jalango’s heart is with, Kenya Kwanza not Azimio la Umoja with his sentiments about the Hustler’s Fund which was the main agenda in their manifesto. Maybe it’s a matter of time before we see him crossing over?”

Jalang’o defended himself saying, “No. I don’t think so because any government really needs an opposition at any given day, so if I cross over who will do these checks and balances? I can’t. I can’t. I will not cross over.”

Adding, “For now, I’m happy with my party ODM. I’m happy in Azimio and contented that does not change the fact that the president is a personal friend.”

Back on August 24, Jalang’o went on Ramogi FM and revealed that President Ruto wanted to poach him from Azimio.

The former comedian turned legislature alleged that he was offered money to leave Baba and join Ruto.

“We have been called severally. What is important is that you should stand for your beliefs and the party that sponsored you to parliament.”

He added that loyalty to Baba is key and he believes in his vision.

“If you know what you stand for, then you cannot join Kenya Kwanza. We are ready to serve in the opposition even if the supreme court does not rule in favour of Raila.”
