Ticket cost Sh25,000 for Sean Paul’s return to Kenya after 20 years

Grammy-winning reggae and dancehall superstar Sean Paul is set to make a much-anticipated return to Kenya after two decades. The iconic artist, known for hits such as Get Busy, Give Me the Light, and No Lie, will headline a major concert at the Waterfront 2 Gardens, Nairobi Jockey Club on Sunday 1 December.

Organized by Who Said Events and Win Group Agency, the event marks Sean Paul’s first visit to Kenya since 2004. The last time he performed in Kenya, he gave an electric performance but also left with some bad memories after he lost his smartphone at a time when such devices were not affordable and considered a reserve for the privileged.

The 51-year-old Jamaican artist is expected to deliver an electrifying show. Other headlines include dancehall sensation Redsan, producer and DJ Motif Di Don (performing his Arbantone set), and popular DJs such as DJ Grauchi, G-Money, Kym Nickdee, DJ Moh Spice, Mish, CNG and ZJ Heno.

Early bird regular tickets are priced at Ksh 3,000 while early bird VIP tickets are available for Ksh 7,500. For those seeking a premium experience, the Golden Circle option is available at Ksh 25,000 per person. There is also a Golden Circle package for six people at Ksh 120,000.

Reflecting on the 2004 phone incident in an interview a Kenyan radio, Sean Paul clarified that it was not a case of theft, but a simple misplacement of the device in a hotel. He humorously recalled that he had considered offering a reward for the phone’s return, but it never reappeared. Despite the mishap, he expressed fond memories and a deep appreciation for Kenya.
This December, Sean Paul will rekindle that connection and create new memories with his Kenyan fans.
The upcoming concert promises to be an exciting night full of vibrant performances and unforgettable moments. Fans can only wait to witness a show that has promised to light up Nairobi’s entertainment scene.
