Top 10 most selected secondary schools for Form One in 2024

The top ten most selected schools by candidates who sat their 2023, Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) have been revealed by the Ministry of Education.

In a statement, Education CS Ezekiel Machogu said that all the students who scored over 400 marks will join national schools.

Mr Machogu, who officially launched the placement exercise at Lenana School asked candidates to check the schools they will join by clicking on two websites.

Top on the list was Kabianga High School which was selected by a total of 186, 357 pupils but only 672 will join the Kericho County based institution.

Nanyuki High was the second on the list after a total of 158,741 pupils selected the school but only 480 will join the school.

A total of 144,542 pupils selected Pangani Girls which was the third most selected school. However, it has a capacity of 384 students.

Fourth on the list was Kapsabet Boys which was selected by a total of 143,723 pupils. However, the institution can only accommodate a total of 432 students.

Alliance Girls High School was fifth in the list after a total of 135, 033 pupils picked it. However, only 384 students can be accommodated in the school.

Maseno School, Nakuru High School and Butere Girls were sixth, seventh and eight most selected schools by the candidates who sat the 2023 KCPE.

Maseno School was picked by 123,777 pupils but it can only take in a total of 672 students, Nakuru High School was selected by 115,513 pupils but it can only take in a total of 480 students while Butere Girls was selected by 114,635 pupils but can only take in 480 students.

Mang’u High School was ninth on the list after a total of 112,938 pupils selected it but it can only take in 480 students.

The tenth most selected school was Alliance High School after a total of 110,839 pupils selected it but it can only take in a total of 384 students.
