This has to be the most ‘useless’ boda boda shed
Kajiado county government has accomplished the unenviable honour of building probably the most ‘useless’ boda boda shed anywhere in the country.
Photos of the shed, which have been doing the rounds on social media, have baffled the online community for the county government’s weird choice of location for the structure.
The shed was put up barely three weeks ago to provide boda boda operators with shelter from harsh weather conditions while waiting for passengers.
INTENDED PURPOSE
But the biggest irony is that shed has been built on top of an open trench using Kajiado county government funds for the financial year 2018/2019.
The trench runs right in the middle of the shed leaving little room for the boda boda operators to occupy, meaning it is not serving its intended purpose.
Kajiado county, whose governor is Joseph Ole Lenku, received budget allocation of Sh 5.7 billion in the financial year 2018/2019.
MONEY SPENT
“I don’t see why they used our money to build this shed yet as you can see it’s not helpful. They should find a way to seal this part under the shed so that we can be able to park our bikes inside the shade,” said one boda boda operator.
It is not yet clear how much was spent in building the shed but in 2015 Elgeyo Marakwet county spent about Sh109,000 on one piece of motorcycle sheds.
