Advancing audio masterclass set to elevate sound engineering in Nairobi


From October 18 to 21, Nairobi will play host to the “Advancing Audio Masterclass,” a groundbreaking event that promises to enhance the world of sound engineering.

The four-day masterclass aims to provide sound engineers in the region with comprehensive training, networking opportunities, and insights into the ever-evolving audio industry.

Led by a team of experienced engineers, the masterclass will cover critical aspects of sound engineering, with a primary focus on improving the sound quality at live events.

Topics include Front-of-House and Monitor Sound Engineering, Systems Engineering and Wireless Technology, Advanced Mixing and Lighting Integration, and Broadcast and Streaming Engineering.

The brainchild behind this endeavor is Byron Belle, an audio engineer with over 15 years of experience in live production and events.

His passion for sound engineering, combined with his desire to give back to an industry he deeply cares about, led to the creation of this masterclass.

He has worked with prominent artists and companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Disney, Chris Brown, Eve, Gladys Knight, and Phil Vasser, to name a few.

The Advancing Audio Masterclass will not only provide theoretical insights but also offer practical sessions, allowing participants to apply their newly acquired knowledge in a live setting.

The masterclass is set to culminate in a live Concert Showcase on the final day, providing participants with a platform to display their skills in a real-world environment.

Joining Byron Belle are four other experts in the field:

1. Chris Pou – Systems and Front-of-House Engineer.
2. Shanon Austin – Speaker and Audio Engineer.
3. Brandon Thompson – Systems Integrator and IT Specialist.
4. Shelton Morgan – House of Worship Front-of-House Engineer and Live Stream Engineer.

All these professionals have extensive experience in the industry and have toured with A-list artists, making them ideal mentors for aspiring sound engineers.

The Day Pass is priced at Sh 5,000, allowing access to any single day of the masterclass. The Season Pass goes for Sh 15,000, which grants access to all masterclass days and the concluding concert.
For groups of five, the Group Tickets option provides a 15% discount, making it available for Sh63,750.
