Baba Mona’s sister Oselu Nyar Onagi laid to rest

The burial ceremony of Belinda Oselu aka Awuor Oselu Nyar Onagi, the sister to the late TikToker Kevin Oselu, who was popularly known as Baba Mona, is ongoing at Ayweyo in Kisumu county.

Belinda, 30, died February 24, 2023 alongside Baba Mona, their sister, Conny and little Mona when the car they were travelling in was involved in a tragic road accident.

The body of the deceased was collected from the mortuary on Tuesday by the family for an overnight vigil ahead of the burial.

In an interview with one media outlet, Baba Mona’s father, Thomas Oselu Nyangweso said he cried so much when he was informed of his children’s death, and if wails could wake the dead, his family would be alive right now.

“When I entered the mortuary, I saw Kevin lying on a table, Belinda on his side and Mona and Conny were on the other side. Four of them on the table, I could not believe my eyes. Losing all my family at once. I have cried, and if crying can make someone wake up and get out of the mortuary… their mother has cried and I have cried too,” said Mr Nyangweso.

The Oselu siblings were popular on social media and were loved and followed by thousands, especially on TikTok.

They died when the vehicle Baba Mona had been driving was involved in a grisly accident in Londiani. Some of the late Baba Mona’s friends claimed the deceased had told them that the hired car he had been driving was faulty but the owner claimed it was raodworthy.

Witnesses at the scene of the accident said the vehicle veered off the road before it hit a barrier at the Tunnel Trading Center in Kipkelion East.

They had been heading to Awasi where Baba Mona would drop off his sisters before proceeding to Kisumu.
